Welcome to chART! Watch this space for the latest about our activities and events.

Our Patrons Black Stone Cherry were in town and on fire last night! Absolutely amazing show with
The Darkness and Danko Jones! Just a few dates left to catch them in the UK.

Huge thanks to BSC, The Darkness for signing a guitar, drumheads and Gold Vinyl and for providing strings & special thanks to their management and fab tour managers.

Thanks for the photo Steve.

Lovely to catch up with everyone...you just know what's coming!!!

chART Children's Hospice Arts have been so fortunate to receive a generous donation of £5,000
from the Italian Serie B football club, Como 1907. This was given in addition to a gift donated to me through their Cheers4Christmas campaign, in recognition of helping others. My dear friend and chART sister, Suzanne, had nominated me and kept it a secret with my daughter Lauren.
They were both fantastic secret squirrels.
This surprise donation to Chart Children's Hospice Arts Charity will enable Suzanne, Jackie
and I to provide many more Arts related experiences for children and young adults with life-limiting conditions. These mean a lot to them and their families, making special lasting memories.
We will be sharing here how we decide to use this wonderful gift over the following weeks.
Thank you will never seem enough to my wonderful friend and chART sister, Suzanne fornominating me in the first place, but a huge thanks again for making this happen for us.

Love you, Suze xXx.

Hello! We've been uncharacteristically quiet for a long time! Covid had a huge impact on us all, including the hospices we support, but we're back in action and continue to provide support to children and young adults with life-limiting conditions, and their families.

chART were able to work in a very limited way with our existing funds, as we have no overheads, until our fundraising could start again. However, as our main source of income comes from our popular online auctions, offering autographed guitars and other items, we were affected by the cancellation of many live events. We are grateful to all the musicians who agreed to sign items for us, but this meant our popular auctions could not take place.

Therefore, it makes us very happy to be back and we’ll be sharing our latest news with you regularly. We have a busy month ahead of us, liaising with the hospices, stocking our eBay store, redesigning new chART merchandise and promo materials, updating our website and social media pages, and looking forward to bringing you our fantastic spring auction.

chART Children's Hospice Arts is Ten Today!

On this day back in 2011, chART Children's Hospice Arts was co founded with close friends, Carol Bromley, Suzanne Price and Jackie Hassall. We had no idea where it would take us, or how many children and young people we'd be able to help, armed only with limited funds and determination to give it our best shot!
Over the past decade, we've established links with hospices and become a registered charity helping children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families, to enjoy Arts related experiences. Its been truly rewarding and humbling to see the difference these can make.
Check out our social media pages over the next few days where we'll be sharing more about the charity, how we started, fundraising activities, including some exciting projects we've been involved in, the amazing hospices and the special families we work for.

We'd like to start by saying a HUGE heartfelt thank you to every single person who has supported us, from those who have given their time to the children, and signed items for auction, to those who regularly share and like our posts. We couldn't do any of this on our own and really appreciate your help. Please join with us today as we wish a very happy 10th birthday to chART!!!

Lots of love Carol Suzanne Jackie & all at chART HQ xxx

We've been privileged to see the transformative effect of music provision in the lives of children and young adults chART have helped over the past seven years. Creative music-making is a powerful therapeutic tool which has enabled those with life-limiting conditions to communicate when words cannot, assisted memory, concentration and self awareness, promoted better mental health and enriched their lives so much. We truly believe that music makes the soul smile!

We are currently supporting Stephen, a 24-year-old young man with complex life-limiting conditions.Stephen has a heart defect and has been in and out of hospitals and hospices since birth.Last year, he had major heart surgery, and also suffered an ischemic stroke, which left him with neurological damage including seizures, speech, cognitive and mobility problems.

His family recognise the benefit that Stephen derives from music, which he has always loved; it has enabled him to communicate, and he only smiles when he is creating or listening to music. He completed a course of music therapy in his rehabilitation programme, but has access to very few instruments at home, and can only access further therapy privately. His family can't afford this provision so this is where we come in!

chART are funding weekly music therapy sessions for Stephen and we need your support to enable us to raise funds for musical instruments, which we will purchase after Stephen has been accessed by the music therapist to ensure that we provide the most appropriate for his needs.

It is important that he will still benefit at home when these therapy sessions finish in six months' time; we are committed to ensuring that he has access to musical instruments at home and that his parents receive the assistance they need to continue to help Stephen to create the music he loves.
