We've received a lovely thank you card from St.Oswald's thanking us for funding their Family Fun Day on 17th June.It was an absolute pleasure to be involved in such a special day,bringing families together and working with the wonderful hospice staff!

Following a request received from Claire House, we are sending tickets for three children and their carers to have a treat at Chester Zoo next month. We are also sending out one of our animal crafts packs so the children can have fun remembering their day out, making some fun mobiles,masks and more!

The Fun Day, which we funded for the children, young adults and families of St.Oswald's Hospice, Newcastle, on 17th June, was fantastic! Big thanks to our Crafts team leader, Lauren, and trustee, Carol, who ran crafts activities and organised the catering, to Liz Davidson for running the barbecue, Ace Faces, www.ace-faces.co.uk  superb face painter Libby Wilson (welcome to the chART team!), Tom Taylor Entertainments for the magic show and balloon modelling, Animal Antics who brought so many amazing animals from cuddlies to creepies, John Bromley for his help with catering and transport, the musicians organized by the hospice and to St.Oswald's chef, David Taylor, one of the region's Olympic torchbearers, for opening the event, letting everyone hold the torch and posing for so many photos! It was a pleasure to work with the staff to make it a wonderful day for all!

A cake sale on 10th May raised £100 for chART! It was organised by Codie Boultby and held at Bilborough College,Nottingham. Many thanks to Codie and her team of helpers, Chelsea Boultby and her boyfriend George, and Codie's friend, Chantalle. Also thanks to Corinne Boultby and her Aunty Linda for making the beautiful cakes!

Jef Leppard are proud to be raffling an Epiphone Ltd Ed Les Paul Junior signed by all the members of Def Leppard on 22nd September at Longfield Live in Manchester. All proceeds to chART.  Raffle tickets will be available on the night!  It’s a must for any Def Leppard fan.  Pease take a look at their website                             www.jef-leppard.net/html/gigs.htm  This guitar was signed in December 2011 at the Manchester Arena.

We'd like to send a big thank you to another member of Janey and Rob's family-their grandson, Callam, who has raised £43 doing a sponsored cycle for chART. We really appreciate your kindness, as will the children in hospices who you've helped, Callam.You're a star!

Let's hear it for the boys!!! Gary Palmer and John Bromley ( chART’s Sponsored Events Coordinator) did so well and made it around the Hawkshead Challenge in style! Thanks so much, Gary, for running for chART- and to John for going along to cheer him on and put some training in ready for his big run for chART at the Great North Run. Gary ran the gruelling 17km run over challenging lakeland terrain to raise £649 for chART! Our heartfelt thanks to Gary Palmer for doing this for us and to everyone who sponsored him! Our mascot, Ladybird Elise, took Bob (the big orange bucket!), filled with gifts, to St.Oswald's Children's Service, Newcastle, on 12th April. Please see the Gallery (Hospices) for pictures of this visit. Many thanks to everyone at the hospice for making us feel so welcome.

We are delighted to inform you that the total fundraising from auctions and donations for the first quarter of 2012 is £3658.83!

Thank you so very much to everyone all over the globe who helped us to raise this amount! Your generosity has enabled us to fund a family fun day, art wall, garden for the young adults and more at St.Oswald's Newcastle, provide entertainers and help with decorating for a Jubilee celebration at Claire House Wirral, chART bags packed with Arts related treats for 15 hospices throughout the UK, books, a family photo session, chART Art packs, a successful designer range of items, which are selling well in our ebay store, family treats to the theatre and cinema. Thank you all so much for your continued support; it really makes such a difference to the children and young people and is very much appreciated by their families and the hospices.
